Earth Celebrations Ecological City- Art & Climate Solutions project engages community through the arts on solutions to mitigate impacts of flooding and sea-level rise, decrease waste, improve water quality and conservation, cultivate sustainable urban agriculture and reduce carbon and global warming. Through cultural strategies we build collaborative partnerships, cultivate youth climate leaders and engage community residents, gardeners, organizations, schools and youth to explore local sustainability sites and climate solution initiatives throughout the community gardens, neighborhood and waterfront on the Lower East Side of New York City. Participants collaborate with our artists-in-residence and environmental experts through Art & Climate Solution Workshops March through May. The artistic works created by artists and the community are presented in a culminating Ecological City- Procession for Climate Solutions on Saturday May 10, 2025, featuring visual art, dance, music, theater and poetry created by artists, community and youth exploring local climate challenges and solutions.
